Are you focused on employee engagement and retention? Dedicated to creating a culture of teamwork? Committed to rewarding hard work or a job well done? Looking for a way to bond with your co-workers?

A personal development workshop is a great way to promote happiness and foster collaboration at your workplace. Personal growth and professional development are not mutually exclusive. In fact, the opposite is true. When we learn strategies to help us reduce stress, shift our thoughts to a more positive mindset and become more mindful in our interaction with others, we carry these techniques with us to our job and we find ourselves becoming more productive and effective in our day-to-day. What’s more, we tend to enjoy our work more while also encouraging our colleagues to follow suit.

A dinner outing can be fun, but scheduling a one-hour stress-reduction workshop or half-day company retreat can yield wonderful results, including an opportunity for co-workers to connect and establish ongoing support to continue implementing the practices learned for sustained long-term benefits.

Mindfulness 101

The availability of scientific research measuring the many positive physical, mental and emotional changes experienced by those who practice meditation has increased its acceptance into the mainstream of healthcare. As a result, more and more companies are introducing the practice to employees in order to help improve focus and disrupt negative, unproductive thought patterns while under stress. A daily meditation practice of 10 minutes has been proven to strengthen the Executive Center of the brain, responsible for working memory, reasoning, problem solving and planning, after only eight weeks.

Providing mindfulness training at work is another excellent way to reward employees with an opportunity to benefit from practices that nourish mind, body and spirit and improve performance while also creating for them, a pretty cool place to work.
